Has learning to surf been your dream? It’s a good one to have, and the calm waters of La Jolla Shores is the best spot to learn! Our experienced instructors are eager to share their passion for surfing with beginners and intermediates alike - no experience necessary, all equipment provided.

Our instructors respect each student’s choice regarding his or her level of participation in the lesson, and comfort in the water. You’ll have fun learning how to surf in a safe environment!

La Jolla Private Surf Lessons

New to surfing, or just want a refresher? No problem! Our experienced instructors will teach you the fundamentals of surfing and ocean safety on land, before heading into the water to catch some waves with one-on-one surf instruction, tailored to your skill level! Continually voted one of the best spots for beginner and intermediate surfers in San Diego, the calm waters of La Jolla Shores are an ideal place to learn how to surf in a fun, yet safe environment.

Throughout the lesson, your instructors will make sure you’re safe and having fun. No experience necessary, all equipment provided, including wetsuits.

    It was my first time surfing and I was able to get up and stand on the board - I had an amazing experience. From check in to surfing the service was also excellent, the boards were already on the beach so I didn’t have to drag it all the way down from the shop which was a bonus. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place!

    The instructors were very helpful, and went above and beyond to assist me when I wanted to spend extra time in the water. Highly recommend them for an intro into surfing. Plus, their gear is fantastic. I loved it so much, I went back the next weekend and rented a board for the day to keep surfing.

  • Can’t say enough good things about the people that work here and the experiences they create
    From the people working up at the counters to the instructors, they make the experience so chill. I spent a month in San Diego and decided to try to learn how to surf and the surf instructors were amazing! Took me out of my comfort zone and taught me some really good techniques. I also had a friend visit me and we went on a kayaking tour and it was such a good experience and we loved the tour guides’ attitudes and high energy. Will definitely be back!
